MAPFRE has obtained the renewal and expansion of ISO 14001 Certification for Environmental Management, by the certification body/registrar Det Norske Veritas (DNV).
This renewal is yet another step in MAPFRE’S environmental commitment, and makes it possible to ensure compliance with the legislation on, and optimisation and minimisation of, environmental risks and sustainable management of natural resources. Attaining it endows MAPFRE additional prestige as regards its clients and society in general, since it recognises MAPFRE’s endeavour to integrate environmental management into the company’s global management.
Prior to granting this qualification, DNV carried out an exhaustive process of verification and testing in which it took into account, among other aspects, employee involvement and cooperation among the different Common Areas of MAPFRE involved, more directly, in the Environmental Management System.
Thus, certification renewal has been achieved in the buildings of the Head Offices of MAPFRE, MAPFRE FAMILIAR, MAPFRE INTERNACIONAL, MAPFRE RE, MAPFRE AMÉRICA, FUNDACIÓN MAPFRE, the headquarter building of the Territorial Directorate-General of Madrid and the Balearic Islands and the headquarter building of the Territorial Directorate-General of Catalonia.
Furthermore, ISO 14001 certification has been expanded in Environmental management in the network to include certification of the buildings of the housing the head offices of the Territorial Directorates-General of Andalusia, Central Spain, Eastern Spain and Northern Spain.
